New from Lowepro: DryZone Backpack 40L & DryZone Duffle 20L

Posted on Jun 18, 2013 in News: Bags, Straps & Pouches, Lowepro

Lowepro unveils two weatherproof and watersport-friendly camera bags built to protect photo and personal gear, whether your adventures take place in heavy seas or calm waters.

Lowepro announces its newest DryZone camera bags designed to keep your camera and personal gear safe, dry and protected with an IPX6 waterproof rating.

“We’re really excited for outdoor adventure photographers and enthusiasts to get a hold of these lightweight, yet technical bags,” said Tim Grimmer, worldwide director of product management and design. “The backpack and duffle are protective and extremely flexible, perfect for taking out on a kayak, canoe, scuba boat, sailboat or even a dogsled. When you want to protect your gear from splashes and extreme weather, these are carrying solutions you can rely on.”

The original DryZone series, launched in 2002, features an IPX7 rating for protection from water when the bags are immersed. These new DryZone designs are tested at an IPX6 waterproof rating to offer protection from water projected in powerful jets (12.5 mm nozzle) against enclosure from any direction.

Both the DryZone BP 40L and DryZone DF 20L feature a roll-top design with a wide-mouth opening for full access to gear. A removable and fully padded camera case is constructed with adjustable dividers so you can customize your kit, and taped teams to provide redundant water and weather protection when placed inside the backpack or duffle.

User-friendly details like sturdy side-release buckles and ergonomic grab handles and zipper pulls are added to enhance the active use of these bags. The backpack is ideal for photographers who pack up a few more personal items and carry their gear for longer periods of time. A perforated, EVA backpad and shoulder straps provide lightweight, durable and breathable comfort. Laser-cut loops and lash points offer convenient attachment points for extra gear.

The duffle features a super-stable design in a more compact profile. It’s ideal for strapping to a kayak or stashing on a shelf in a dive boat. It’s built with daisy-chain webbing loops for easy outer attachments, plus an exterior zippered pocket for quick access to sunscreen, lip balm or other essentials.
